On Monday October 10th at 8pm Ύλη[matter]HYLE is pleased to host the artist Dominik Lang for an informal talk and discussion.
In his often large scale realizations Dominik Lang turns over the existing architecture of exhibition spaces and involves their employees in various games and scenarios.
His work brings to forth how institutions function and in which way regulated and over determined spaces are used and adapted by people. With his father's sculptural estate Lang acts through the method of dissection and new assemblage to look through the sculptural body to the history of Czech art and the personal history of a forgotten artist in it.
In 2011 he presented the installation Sleeping City in in the pavilion of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic at the 54th International Art Exhibition -- la Biennale di Venezia.
