Πολιτικές του βίου: Δημιουργώντας νόημα στην εικονιστική κοινωνία
Πώς να ζήσω την ζωή μου; Ίσως ποτέ άλλοτε το ερώτημα αυτό να μην είχε την ένταση που έχει σήμερα για μεγάλο αριθμό ανθρώπων στην εικονιστική κοινωνία. Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες παρατηρούμε έναν καταιγισμό από εγχειρίδια αυτοβοηθείας, σεμινάρια αυτογνωσίας και αυτοβελτίωσης. Με αυτοπεποίθηση υπόσχονται να μας βοηθήσουν να ξεπεράσουμε τις φοβίες μας, να γνωρίσουμε τον εαυτό μας, να μάθουμε ν' αγαπούμε. Προσφέρουν οδηγίες για την διαχείριση της ζήλειας, του χωρισμού, του πένθους ή της μοναξιάς. Προσανατολίζουν στην ανατροφή των παιδιών, την κρίση της μέσης ηλικίας ή την μετάβαση στην τρίτη ηλικία, την αντιμετώπιση της κατάχρησης ουσιών και την αλλαγή συνηθειών. Μας συμβουλεύουν για την κατάκτηση της επιτυχίας, αλλά κυρίως για την επίτευξη της ευτυχίας. Παράλληλα εξαπλώνονται ραγδαία νέοι επαγγελματικοί κλάδοι όπως το life coaching που βασίζονται στο self management ή στρατηγικές όπως το gamification για να μας συνδράμουν στην εκπλήρωση αυτών των σκοπών. Συγχρόνως, το lifestyle, πανταχού παρόν στο διαδίκτυο, τα ΜΜΕ και τον παραδοσιακό Τύπο, μάς καθοδηγεί στο πως να γίνουμε hip, hot ή cool, υποδεικνύοντας τρόπους συμπεριφοράς, εμφάνισης και φροντίδας του εαυτού. Τέλος, το new age υπόσχεται μια μοντέρνα πνευματικότητα συμβατή με την σύγχρονη ζωή, προκειμένου να βρούμε γαλήνη εναρμονίζοντας την ψυχή, το σώμα και το πνεύμα μας με το σύμπαν. Δεν θα συνιστούσε υπερβολή αν περιγράφαμε τα παραπάνω ως μια βιομηχανία της τέχνης του βίου σε απάντηση των δεινών της ελευθερίας που μαστίζουν το υποκείμενο στην εικονιστική κοινωνία. Άραγε είχε δίκιο ο Theodor Adorno όταν περιγράφοντας την συνθήκη του υποκειμένου στον απομαγεμένο κόσμο έγραφε «es gibt kein richtiges Leben im falschen» και, αν όχι, ποια θα μπορούσαν να είναι τα χαρακτηριστικά μιας αναστοχαστικής τέχνης του βίου; Θεοφάνης Τασης
| Politics of Bios: Creating meaning in iconic society. How to live my life? Perhaps like never before this question had such tension as today, for a large number of people, in iconic society. In recent decades we are witnessing a barage of self-help manuals, self-knowledge and self-improvement seminars. Full of confidence their promise is to help us to overcome our fears, to know ourselves and to learn to love. They offer guidance on the management of jealousy, separation, mourning or loneliness. They navigate in parenting, the midlife crisis or transition to old age, as well as treatment of substance abuse and changing habits. They are advising us for the conquest of success, but mostly for achieving happiness. Alongside those there is a rapid spread of new professions such as life-coaching based on self management or strategies such as gamification in order to assist us in fulfilling these objectives. At the same time, the lifestyle, always present on the Internet, media and traditional press, guides us on how to become hip, hot or cool, indicating modes of behavior, appearance and care of the self. Finally, New Age promises a modern spirituality compatible with contemporary life, in order to find peace and to bring harmony to our soul, body and spirit with the universe. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to describe the above as an industry of the art of life in response to the suffering of freedom that plague the subject in iconic society. Was Theodor Adorno accurate on his description of the condition of the subject in the disenchanted world: «es gibt kein richtiges Leben im falschen» and if not, what are the characteristics of a contemplative art of life? Τις Κυριακές, 18 Οκτωβρίου, 1η Νοεμβρίου και 18 Νοεμβρίου στις 6μμ ο πρώτος από τους πέντε κύκλους συμποσίων θα λάβει χώρα. Τα συμπόσια έχουν την μορφή ελεύθερης συζήτησης η οποία συνοδεύεται απο φαγητό και ποτό που έχουν προετοιμαστεί ειδικά απο τον φίλο και συνεργάτη μας σεφ Γιάννη Κατσανδρή * * *. Χωρίς χρονικό περιορισμό και εξωτερικές παρεμβολές το συμπόσιο προσδοκά να προσφέρει στους συνδαιτυμόνες τον χωροχρόνο να σκεφτούν, να μιλήσουν και να ακούσουν με τον δικό τους ιδιαίτερο τρόπο. Οι τοπολογίες της σκέψης θα περιλαμβάνουν ιστορικές, φιλοσοφικές αντιλήψεις περί ύλης απο τους αρχαίους χρόνους μέχρι σήμερα. Συγκεκριμένα o πρώτος κύκλος έχει τον τίτλο:

| On Sundays, October 18th, November 1st and November 8th at 6 pm the first of the five circles of symposiums is initiated. The symposiums have the form of a free-floating discussion accompanied by food and a drink specially preapared by our friend and associate chef Yiannie Katsandris * * *. Without time restrictions and outside interference the symposium aims to offer the participants the space-time to think, speak and listen on their own diverse manner. The topologies of thought will be encompassing historical and philosophical reflections on matter, ύλη, from the ancient times until today. In particular the first circle has the title:

* Ο Θεοφάνης Τάσης γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στο Μόναχο. Σπούδασε Φυσική και Φιλοσοφία στην Ελλάδα και στην Γερμανία. Διδάσκει σύγχρονη Φιλοσοφία στο Freie Universitat Berlin. Διατέλεσε Stanley J. Seeger Fellow στο πανεπιστήμιο του Princeton, Marie Curie Fellow στην Academie Louvain και στο Universite Saint-Louis στις Βρυξέλλες. Έχει διδάξει σε πανεπιστήμια στην Ελλάδα, στην Αυστρία και στην Γερμανία. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα περιστρέφονται γύρω από την φιλοσοφία της τέχνης του βίου στην εικονιστική κοινωνία. Στην Ελλάδα τα έργα του «Πολιτικές του Βίου: Η Ειρωνεία» (Εκδόσεις Ευρασία, 2012) και «Καστοριάδης, μια φιλοσοφία της αυτονομίας» (Εκδόσεις Ευρασία, 2007) έχουν βραβευθεί με το Καυταντζόγλειο βραβείο του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Στα ελληνικά κυκλοφορούν ακόμη τρία έργα του: «Φάρμακον» (Εκδόσεις Ευρασία) και οι ποιητικές συλλογές «Φυσιολογικά ευρήματα» (Εκδόσεις Κέδρος) και «Απογεύματα στον καπιταλισμό» (Εκδόσεις Τυπωθήτω). Επίσης, έχει μεταφράσει έργα των Martin Heidegger και Roberto Unger. Είναι μέλος της ελληνικής φιλοσοφικής εταιρείας και του Humanistischer Verband Deutschlands, ενώ τα τελευταία χρόνια αρθρογραφεί σε τακτά χρονικά διαστήματα στην εφημερίδα Καθημερινή.
| * Theofanis Tasis is teaching contemporary philosophy at the Freie Universitat Berlin. He was a Stanley J. Seeger Fellow at Princeton University, a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Academie Louvain and a fellow Researcher at the Universite Saint- Louis de Bruxelles. He held visiting professorships at universities in Greece, Austria and Germany. His current research explores a philosophy of the art of living in what he defines as "iconistic modernity". The term "iconistic modernity" describes a mode of production and distribution of images - including the self-image of the subject - in which social significations are codified and replaced by images. His latest book Politics of Bios: On Irony published by Eurasia Publications (2012) is the first part of a planned trilogy and won the Kaftantzogleio Prize of the University of Athens in 2013. His monography Castoriadis, a philosophy of autonomy was published in Germany by DMV Publications and in Greece by Eurasia Publications. It won the Kaftantzogleio Prize of the University of Athens in 2008 and is now in its second edition. Besides his philosophical writings he has published two poetry volumes «Normal foundings», Kedros Publications (2001), «Afternoons in capitalism», Gutenberg Publications (2010) and a collection of philosophical aphorisms «Pharmacon», Eurasia Publications (2012). He has also translated and edited books by Martin Heidegger and Roberto Unger into greek. Theofanis Tasis is a member of the Greek Philosophical Society and a member of the German Humanist Association (Humanistischer Verband Deutschlands). He is a frequent contributor for the «Kathimerini» newspaper and has been interviewed on numerous occasions by various nationwide media in Greece and participated in televised round table discussions.
* * Ο Δούκας Καπάνταης γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1971. Είναι γιος του γλύπτη Βάσου Καπάνταη και της συγγραφέως Ισμήνης Καπάνταη. Είναι Διδάκτωρ Φιλοσοφίας των Πανεπιστημίων της Σορβόννης (1998) και Βέρνης (2007). Ασχολείται με την Αρχαία Ελληνική Φιλοσοφία και την Σύγχρονη Μαθηματική Λογική. Εργάζεται ως Εντεταλμένος Ερευνητής στο Κέντρο Ερεύνης της Ελληνικής Φιλοσοφίας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών και έχει διδάξει Φιλοσοφία της Λογικής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Το 2004 δημοσίευσε στις εκδόσεις Νεφέλη την ποιητική συλλογή «Αγοράκια Κοριτσάκια». Το πρόσφατο του βιβλίο «Η Αυτοκράτειρα» (2014) είναι ένα πορνογραφικό μυθιστόρημα δημοσιευμένο απο τις εκδόσεις Νεφέλη.
| * * Doukas Kapantais was born in Athens in 1971. He is the son of the sculptor Vassos Kapantais and the novelist Ismini Kapantai. He has Phd degrees from the Universities of Paris IV-Sorbonne (1998) and Bern (2007). His field of expertise lies within Ancient Greek Philosophy and Modern Mathematical Logic. He is currently Research Assistant Professor in the Centre for Greek Philosophy at the Academy of Athens, and has taught Philosophy of Logic in Athens University. In 2004, his book of poems ‘Boys and Girls’ was published by Nefeli publication. His latest book ‘The Empress’ (2014) is a pornographic fiction published by Nefeli publications.
